Victoria Robertson - Dental Nurse at Hockley Dental PracticeVictoria Robertson (Head Nurse) - National Diploma in Dental Nursing 2004

I started my career in dental nursing in London in 2001. I gained my NEBDN certificate in 2004 after qualifying at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in London. I have recently completed the first part of the SAAD course for conscious sedation. I have been appointed as Head Nurse and love the many aspects of dentistry, which include cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, sedation and Implantology. I enjoy working with various dentists, meeting new people and constantly learning new skills. In my spare time I like to go on long walks and spending time with my family.

Kelly Martin - Dental Nurse at Hockley Dental PracticeKelly Martin - National Diploma in Dental Nursing 2000

I started my career at HDS in dentistry in 1998 as a trainee dental nurse. I qualified in 2000 from Chelmsford College in Essex and gained my NEBDN qualification. My time at HDS is divided between nursing and reception. I enjoy my job because I get to meet new people and enjoy getting to know the patients and like to think I provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Outside of work I am a busy mum so although I don’t get much spare time for hobbies, I enjoy going on long walks with my dogs and quality family time.

Nikki Abbott - Dental Nurse at Hockley Dental PracticeNikki Abbott - National Diploma in Dental Nursing 2012

I began my dental nursing career as a trainee in 2009, fully qualifying in January 2012. In that time I have gained experience on reception as well as in the surgery. I have also gained experience in sedation, for which I have received further SAAD training, oral surgery and dental implants which I find one of the most interesting aspects of dentistry.

I really enjoy working at HDS; my colleagues and patients of the practice are very friendly and it has become like an extended family. Working here part time fits in well with my family life; I have two little girls who keep me very busy! In my spare time I enjoy the gym and train most days, if not every day.

Jenny Alleyne - Dental Nurse at Hockley Dental PracticeJenny Alleyne - National Diploma in Dental Nursing 2011

I started working as a dental nurse in 1990 and gained the NEBDN qualification in 1993 from Southend College.

I joined Hockley Dental surgery in 1994, and worked here until 2005 when I took a break to have a family. I returned to HDS in 2011, and because of the break I had to retake my NEBDN exam. I am currently working part-time. I’ve always enjoyed working at HDS and, working with John, I get to experience all aspects of dentistry.

Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family. With two boys, it involves a lot of football, and I am always pleased at the end of May when the football season ends!

Karen Boyle - Dental Nurse at Hockley Dental PracticeKaren Boyle - National Diploma in Dental Nursing 2010

I began dental nursing in 2006. I trained, qualified and worked in Danbury, Essex until 2016. During this period I obtained my NEBDN certificate in 2010.

I am currently working part-time at Hockley Dental Surgery, covering holiday periods for the permanent staff. I thoroughly enjoy working with all the dentists and nurses and the practice, each with their own unique way of working. I am at my best when meeting and greeting new or existing patients to HDS, hopefully making their dental visits a calm and enjoyable experience. I wish to continue to update my nursing skills by learning the latest techniques and practices from the dental team here at HDS.

In my spare time I enjoy daily walks in the woods with my three springer spaniels, occasional yoga/body balance/pilates classes and evenings out to music concerts, the theatre and live shows.
